Strawberry Drop Revisited

I had another go at strobing a strawberry dropped into wine glass. After about 60 drops or shots I have managed to capture one that is presentable. It is incredible how close it is to have a so-so picture, really lousy one and one you want to print, it is such a small fraction of a second. Patience and persistence are paramount to this type of photography.

Oh wow, Jerry! This shot is FANTASTIC! I've always wanted to try a shot like this but was a little intimidated. I searched thru your blog to see if there was a pullback (there was...thank you!!!) I only have one off camera flash; do you think it would work without the 2nd flash on the left side? My husband has a light on a stand he uses (not for photography).... I wonder if that would work.

Your shot is every bit as the one on the book you read, and I definitely would love to try this!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and your nice comment on my oil and water shot. Your suggestion was very helpful (never occurred to me to try that). Great idea, thank you! :-)

Karli, so nice to hear back from you so fast! For that fruit drop shot you will need radio trigger or cable that will trigger the flash. I think that you can do that with just one flash plus very strong light behind a white fabric. I will follow your route and include detailed instructions for set-ups. I did the oil on water, thanks to you, and it is mind blowing. I will blog it and include detailed set-up instructions. Let’s share! Thanks for visiting my “multi” blog.
